Azrael #14 : Demon Time : Part Two : Revenge
Writer : Dennis O'Neil
Penciller : Barry Kitson
Inker : James Pascoe
Colourist : Demetrius Bassoukos
Seperations : Digital Hellfire
Letterer : Ken Bruzenak
Assistant Editor : Chuck Kim
Editor : Archie Goodwin

Synopsis :

Azrael escapes his abductors and fights his way past a mine field and a robotic war machine to reach LeHah's house. Biis and Azrael engage in combat with Azrael inevitably succeeding and locking Lehah in a meat locker with no clothes on.

Review :

The art is unremarkable in it's excellence apart from page 7 which is a great example of Demetrious' superb colouring in Azrael so far. The plot was thin on the ground this issue but Denny used this opportunity to focus on the mental relationship between Azrael and Jean-Paul with Ken's lettering being a key to how this is portrayed. Without a doubt Azrael as a comic is the most dependant on good lettering, it doesn't just set the mood or progress the story, in Azrael it highlights the differance between Jean-Paul and Azrael

Rant :

Not many people cared about Biis going around in his birthday suit, maybe bloated middle aged one-eyed guys letting it all hang out don't titilate readers. I'm a little dissapointed by how fast this issue went. The ending was a little anticlimactic, but the battle between Azrael and the robot (I could have come up with a better acronym, Denny just wasn't trying,) was fantastic in it's portrayal. Barry's work on those couple of panels validated the whole story for me.
