Azrael #40 : The Hour of the Quake
Writer : Dennis O'Neil
Penciller : Roger Robinson
Inker : James Pascoe
Colourist : Demetrius Bassoukos
Seperations : Prismacolour
Letter : Ken Bruzenak
Assistant Editor : Chuck Kim
Editor : Archie Goodwin

synopsis :

Bane breaks free from GCPD custody when the Quake hits. Azrael pursues him into a Bank vault gives him the beating of his life and hauls out a twice defeated Bane.

Review :

Interesting use of a single hour time frame, and when Azrael confronts Bane he makes a good self realization. The use of odd camera angles accentuated the quakes effect, which made for some very appealing art. The Robinson / Pascoe team have fully adjusted to the new state of affairs after Barry left, making the title their home.

Rant :

The time frame factor didn't seem to have much affect on me and the dialogue was a little sparse. Denny did hit on some thing by parralleling the story with the broadcasting of the disaster which did highten the effect of the story. Denny had used this technique before in issue #38
