Review :
The skillful narration of this issue is refreshing and enjoyable. It's not an internal monologue as we see so often these days and it's not dispassionate third person which was everpresent in the knights trilogy. Denny has a unique method of pacing and narration that allows him to produce more enjoyable stories than most writers. He has also presented an interesting fusion of Jean-Paul and Azrael and this will probably mean a new angle from which to attack the character from
Rant :
For the past couple of issues there's a special thanks credit for Alan Grant, What's the deal with that? Is the story idea his? Was he inspiring the writer? Did he treat Chuck Kim to lunch? What about Azrael's costume? Jean-Paul was only wearing it from the waist down, but when the hallucination cleared he was fully armoured. Either it was a case of seeing is being or the hallucination kept us from seeing him put on the rest of the armour. Yep, that's got to be it otherwise it would be a continuity error.
