Azrael stays on an island while the ship he's been travelling on undergoes repair. While there he's drugged and eventually over comes his captors and forces his evil hostess to take him back to the ship.
Review :
Not much to recommend about this issue, the plot was pretty weak. Certainly one of the strongest points was Azrael reverting "know my wrath" mode, his Batmanesque dissapearing act proved that he has learned pretty well from Batman. The wondeful "I will be with you like the sweat on your skin, like the air in your lungs" speech was equally entertaining.
Rant :
Madam Macarena? What whimsical thought caused this? In all the solicitations she was Madame Kalypso, lending a Homeresque quality to Jean-Paul's travels, but now she's the mistress of the annoying fad. The next most annoying thing in this story are the plot gaps, why the hell did Madam M. want these guys? Where was the financial benefit in pampering these guys? Where was the scam/plan? Again the sole savior of this story is the examination of Jean-Paul's decisions although Azrael screaming "Know that you are a foulness upon the Earth. Know that I have come to destroy you." was pretty good. Most intriguing is Jean-Pauls active attempt to keep his identity secret.
