synopsis :

While trying to evade the sword thrown at him by the replacement Azrael Jean Pual loses his grip on the cliff and falls to the bottom as the false Azrael drags Brian away. Jean-Paul finds a ice stair case and follows it to a door. On the other side of the door he is faced with two large beasts that he kills, Brother Zoo of course is most upset at the death of his pets. Jean-Paul is greeted by the mysterious Sister Lilhy before being tended to by Brother Rollo who gives him an improved Azrael costume. While this is happening Sister Lilhy berates the false Azrael for his incompetance. Sister Lilhy then has a meeting with Jean-Paul and asks him to kill Brother Rollo. Rollo is alerted to danger by the head of St. Dumas and prepares for the arrival of his assassin. When Jean-Paul arrives at Rollo's chambers he finds Rollo is not there but the false Azrael is.

Review :

Again the art is outstanding and the story maintains a stellar pace. The use of intrigue and subplots add depth to the story and keep the reader guessing.

While this issue also serves as a reintroduction to Azrael the flashbacks are brief and make sense within the story. Azrael has proven so far to be a high calibre book, and there appears to be no let down in quality

Rant :

For a "getting to know you" story arc this has been one hell of a story so far, there's a lot happening in each issue. Of course this book is worth buying for the art alone.
